Cleanroom Development & Upgrade
Cleanroom Build. Project objective. Our objective was to provide a turn key solution to design and construct a Cleanroom of 190 SQ meters to a Class 7 & 8. The design was to include a production Machine process that included large heat sources, extraction and recovery. The design also includes a Gowning, Raw materials and main Class 7 production room with Automatic Doors and because of the nature of the production process and heavy production Tooling a floor designed to handle heavy equipment was necessary. The Machine had to be dismantled in the USA by DWS and shipped to our Client premises. On arrival, the Machine had to be stripped and rebuilt to the Client’s specifications and interfaced with a Robot system – conveyors. All of this had to be completed in five months and this included design and build. Our design, build program, budget was agreed and accepted by our Client. All components were ordered and completion date set. Construction started, Machine was dismantled in the US, shipped and on arrival redesigned and built. During the construction of the Cleanroom a milestone was met when the Machine was rebuilt, tested and ready to be relocated into position within the Cleanroom. Machine was moved into Cleanroom. Continuation of the Cleanroom was then restarted around the Machine and production process. The Cleanroom envelope was sealed, the final installation of HVAC, Electrical and Mechanical services completed. There was a high level cleandown of the Cleanroom, trials were conducted on Cleanroom, HVAC and Machine process. The Cleanroom was then validated. The project came in within Budget, on time and this was only achieved through good teamwork, communications and project management.
